Purpose and Mission

The association purpose clause stated in the articles of incorporation filed April 7, 1980 states, "The business and purpose of this corporation shall be to foster fellowship among the affiliated churches, to encourage unity in faith and practice and to give and receive assistance in the accomplishment of their mission."

The association was formed in 1924 in a meeting of the Seminole Association. The Lake County churches determined they needed their own association and withdrew from the Seminole Association.

The original mission, and one that continues to drive Lake County Baptist Association today, was, "to facilitate the union and cooperation of Baptists within its territory in the work of upbuilding the Kingdom of Christ."
